Artemisia dracunculus is more excitingly known as dragon’s wort or, more boringly, tarragon. But the Russian version does more than flavor your chicken. Recent research has shown that Russian tarragon helps lower blood glucose levels by allowing the body to more efficiently use the insulin it naturally secretes. This also leads to better uptake of carbs by muscle cells and increased storage of muscle glycogen, both of which help boost the muscle-building process. For best results, take a gram of tarragon extract when you take creatine, whether or not you also consume carbs, and feel free to keep tossing it in the frying pan, as your recipes dictate.
