When you want to boost your testosterone levels, look for products with the following ingredients.

Vitamin D: Who’da thunk? A little sun can bump your junk. Researchers in Germany discovered that men with increased levels of vitamin D in their blood had significantly higher levels of testosterone and lower levels of sex hormone-binding globulin than those who had lower levels of vitamin D. Lower SHBG means that more testosterone is freed up so that it can enter muscles and increase their growth.

Dose: Take2,000 to 5,000 IU of vitamin D per day with meals.

D-Aspartic Acid: This amino acid, also known as D-aspartate, boosts testosterone in two ways. One, it stimulates the release of luteinizing hormone from the pituitary gland, which then travels through the bloodstream to the testicles where it causes a boost in testosterone production. And two, it acts on Leydig cells in the testicles, causing them to produce more testosterone and boost sperm production.

Dose: Take3 grams in the morning.

Vitamin B-12: This essential vitamin is important for the production of energy from dietary fats and protein, but it also has an impact on testosterone levels. Research shows that it may be important for enhancing D-aspartate uptake.

Dose: Take 100 to 1,000 micrograms per day with food.
