Maltodextrin

Maltodextrin is considered a complex carb because its molecular makeup is a chain of multiple glucose molecules. Despite this, however, it digests very quickly and has been shown to boost blood sugar (and therefore insulin) levels higher than even sugar. That makes it a great carb to have during intense workouts, when you need quick energy to keep going, and after the workout is over to assist recovery and boost muscle growth. Just try to avoid maltodextrin and products that contain it at other times of the day, when large blood sugar spikes won’t benefit your physique.
