You’ve seen the scandals and subsequent denials: Pro athletes test positive for banned substances and then proclaim that they have no knowledge of having taken them. It defies credibility, but they’re often telling the truth.
To avoid this situation, NSF International developed its Certified for Sport qualification. To earn it, a supplement has to undergo an audit of its manufacturing process and labeling information and prove that it contains no banned substances — or anything else that’s not listed on the product label. While this should help professional athletes sleep easier, it’s also beneficial to amateurs who just want to know that what’s in their scoopers should go in their bodies.
