IFBB Pro Ben Pakulski underwent hernia surgery yesterday at The Shouldice Hernia Centre in Toronto. This surgery, which is mostly for cosmetics reasons, has been a long time coming for Ben as this protrusion has been plaguing him for 10 years. As is the case with any surgery, rest and recovery is paramount. However, when you’re an athlete like Big Ben Pakulski, who’s been in the hospital for the past four days, proper nutrition is the key to keeping those muscles fed. Hospital food, with its tiny portions, just ain’t gonna cut it for someone still training for the Mr.Olympia. According to one of Ben’s Facebook comments, he’s been getting his entire hospital visit catered, with food being delivered every morning before 7am – now that’s hardcore!

Ben Pakulski started off the season strong by placing 2nd and 3rd respectively, at the Arnold Classic and Australian Pro and it’ll be interesting to see how he transitions back into his regular training routine as he prepares for the Mr. Olympia in September. We all wish Ben a speedy recovery and he’s sure to keep all of his fans updated on his progress via Facebook at his IFBB Pro Ben Pakulski Fan Page.
